Some of the benefits Pain Relief Better general health and happiness
Soft Tissue Therapy (Therapeutic/ Neuromuscular Massage Therapy) Soft Tissue Therapy is the assessment, treatment and management of soft tissue injury, pain and dysfunction primarily of the neuromusculoskeletal system. It can be quite different from what you know from Spa Massages that focus on relaxation only. The emphasis with Soft Tissue Therapy is not so much on "feel good" but more on altering function, structure and tissue restrictions. Research shows it relaxes muscles, improves range of motion, it can help athletes reach their sporting goals by reducing muscular restrictions and increase flexibility. Trigger Point Therapy in particular will help you to find relieve for long-standing musculoskeletal pain and discomfort. However, no single therapy can heal everything. No one approach will suit everyone. That's why we blend the skills and philosophies of different therapy approaches to provide clients with a tailored program to suit their specific needs. And this can be done on a session-by-session basis. So, while you might benefit from a blend of Myofascial Release and Deep Tissue Massage today, next week might call for more specific Trigger Point Therapy. Therefore our pricing is based on time, not type of treatment.
Sessions may include: Trigger Point Therapy Deep Tissue Massage Neuromuscular Techniques Heat or ice applications Fascial release on areas of tight connective tissue Friction Therapy on ligaments Bowen Therapy PNF (specific stretches) Muscle Energy Techniques (also a type of stretch) Static Stretches and exercise suggestions
Definitions: Trigger Point Therapy Myofascial trigger points are tiny contraction knots (muscle knots) that develop in a muscle when it is injured or overworked. Most of the time these trigger points 'refer' pain to other areas of the body. It's a mistake to automatically assume that the problem is always at the side where it hurts. For example a sore neck is often caused by trigger points in the shoulders and doesn't come from the neck itself. If you had some physiotherapy or other treatments and your pain and discomfort is still there, maybe it's caused by a trigger point that's located somewhere else in your body. My experience has shown me that often pains, numbness, tingeling, dizziness and many other conditions are actually just caused by trigger points and no strained ligaments or any other more serious problems. Which is good, cause trigger points can easily be treated through pressure and special 'massage' techniques. Deep Tissue Therapy Deep Tissue massage is the understanding of the different layers of tissue and the ability to work with these layers of tissue to relax, lengthen and release of holding patterns in the most efficient way. Potential goals for deep tissue work are mainly pain alleviation, bringing about better posture, more flexibility and fluid movement. Sport Massage Sport Massage utilizes the same techniques as other forms of massage, it's just more focused on the athlete's goals. It may include more stretching and focus on tight areas of muscle tissue. Bowen Therapy Bowen Therapy is not actually massage, but rather a
holistic complementary therapy concept for treating musculoskeletal, digestive,
respiratory conditions and many more. This therapy uses a series of soft tissue
moves performed on the superficial fascia- the connective tissue. Bowen Therapy
empowers the body's own resources to naturally reset and heal itself. Neuromuscular Therapy Neuromuscular Therapy uses more specific techniques to address pain that might come from: Ischemia (lack of blood supply tp soft tissues), Trigger Points, nerve compression and entrapment, postural distortion or an imbalance of the muscular system.
