Frequently Asked Questions

How long in advance should I book an appointment ?

Preferably a few days in advance to make sure you get the time that suits you, however last-minute appointments may be available at your preferred time, so please just phone or email me. You can also book appointments online if they are at least one day ahead of time. For same day appointments please phone or txt. Thank you.

Circumstances prevent me from attending my appointment, can I reschedule?

Sure, you can certainly reschedule. Please let us know asap that you won't be able to attend your appointment so someone else can book in. If you don't show up without cancelling first you may be charged for the missed appointment.

What do I wear?

You don’t need to wear anything special, generally Massage Therapy treatments will require you to undress (apart from undergarments of course) but any area not currently worked on will be covered with sheets or towels at all times. For sport specific treatments, especially for the legs, you might want to bring some shorts to wear if you prefer.

How often should I come for treatment?

Most conditions benefit from regular treatment initially, usually once a week for the first three to four weeks. Once your health is improving, the length of time between treatments can be extended. Many people like to come for treatment every three to four weeks to maintain relaxation and wellbeing and to prevent pain or discomfort to reappear.

What should I do after the treatment?

Drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins. You might experience some soreness in the areas focused on the in next few days. This can be similar to the discomfort that may be felt after exercising and is part of your body adapting as healing takes place. You can put some heat on any achy muscles, but any soreness felt after the treatment should be gone after about 48 hours. Please don't panic, it is normal especially with treatments such as Trigger Point Therapy or Deep Tissue treatments.

Is Soft Tissue Therapy your full time profession?

Yes it is. I know there are a lot of therapists that have studied Massage Therapy or other bodywork courses and then work from their home part-time as a "hobby".  But I wanted to make Soft Tissue Therapy my full-time career as I know it really does help many people with even long-standing pain and other problems. I take this profession seriously just like a Chiropractor or Osteopath would.

What type of massage oils do you use?

We use massage waxes containing beeswax and almond oil.  Please indicate if you are allergic against these so I can make changes.

Can I pay with Eftpos and Credit Card?

Only eftpos, cash or cheques, sorry no credit cards at this point in time.
